4. Installing the Speed Sensor and Magnet

Mount the speed sensor on the front fork of your bicycle, aligning it with the spokes. Attach the magnet to a spoke on the front wheel. Adjust the position of both the sensor and magnet so that the magnet passes closely by the sensor (typically within 3-5mm) with each wheel rotation. Ensure the sensor is firmly attached and does not interfere with wheel rotation.

5. Initial Settings (Wheel Size, Units, Time)

Upon first power-on or after battery replacement, you will need to configure basic settings:

  • Wheel size: Refer to your bicycle tire's sidewall for its diameter (e.g., 700c, 26 inches) and consult the manual's wheel circumference chart (if provided, otherwise common values are available online) to input the correct value. This is crucial for accurate speed and distance measurements.

Auto Power On/Off:

The M16 automatically powers on when motion is detected (e.g., when you start cycling) and powers off after a period of inactivity to conserve battery life.

Maintenance
