2. Safety Information
Gara uchitevera matanho ekuchengetedza kuti udzivise kukuvara nekukuvadzwa kwemidziyo.
- Ensure the centrifuge is placed on a stable, level surface away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and excessive moisture.
- Do not operate the centrifuge if the lid is open or not properly secured. The automatic lid-lock mechanism is designed for safety.
- Always balance tubes of equal weight and volume opposite each other in the rotor to prevent vibration and potential damage.
- Use only tubes and adapters approved for use with this centrifuge.
- Do not exceed the maximum speed or capacity specified for the rotor and tubes.
- In case of spillage, immediately clean and disinfect the centrifuge and rotor according to laboratory safety protocols.
- Disconnect the power cord before cleaning or maintenance.
- Do not attempt to open or repair the centrifuge yourself. Refer servicing to qualified personnel.

3.2 Zvikamu
The SCILOGEX SCI-506 centrifuge consists of the main unit, rotor, and power cord.

Figure 2: Close-up of the SCI-506 control panel, showing the LCD screen, speed/time adjustment knob, and program buttons.
The control panel (Figure 2) features an LCD screen displaying current speed and time, a rotary knob for setting parameters, and buttons for program selection and start/stop functions. The "DOOR" indicator illuminates when the lid is open.

Figure 3: The rotor of the SCI-506 centrifuge, designed to hold 6 tubes with adapters.
The rotor (Figure 3) is designed to accommodate 6 tubes, typically 15mL, 10mL, 7mL, or 5mL, using appropriate adapters.
4. Setup
- Kuburitsa: Carefully remove the centrifuge from its packaging. Retain packaging materials for future transport or storage.
- Kuiswa: Place the centrifuge on a sturdy, level, and vibration-free workbench. Ensure adequate clearance (at least 10 cm) around the unit for proper ventilation.
- Power Connection: Connect the power cord to the centrifuge and then to a grounded electrical outlet. Ensure the voltage matches the specifications on the unit's rating label.
- Kuiswa kweRotor: Ensure the rotor is correctly seated on the motor shaft. Secure it according to the instructions provided with the rotor.
- Kutanga Kuongorora: Before first use, perform a visual inspection for any signs of damage. Close the lid and ensure it locks securely.
5. Operating Instructions
- Loading Sampzvishoma:
- Vhura chivharo che centrifuge.
- Insert tubes containing samples into the rotor. Always balance the rotor by placing tubes of equal weight and volume directly opposite each other. Unbalanced loads can cause excessive vibration and damage.
- Ensure tubes are properly seated in their adapters and the adapters are correctly placed in the rotor.
- Kuvhara Chivharo: Close the centrifuge lid firmly until the automatic lock engages. The "DOOR" indicator on the display should turn off.
- Kuisa Parameters:
- Turn the rotary knob to adjust the desired speed (RPM or G-force) and time. The LCD will display the current settings.
- Press the "P1" or "P2" buttons to recall or save frequently used programs. Refer to the detailed programming section in the full manual for saving procedures.
- Starting Centrifugation: Press the "START/STOP" button to begin the centrifugation cycle. The centrifuge will accelerate to the set speed.
- Monitoring Operation: Monitor the centrifuge during operation. If unusual noise or vibration occurs, press "START/STOP" immediately to halt the cycle.
- Stopping Centrifugation:
- The centrifuge will automatically stop when the set time expires.
- To stop manually, press the "START/STOP" button.
- Wait for the rotor to come to a complete stop before attempting to open the lid. The lid will automatically unlock once the rotor has stopped.
- Kuburitsa Sampzvishoma: Open the lid and carefully remove the centrifuged tubes.
6. Kuchengeta
- Kuchenesa: Regularly clean the exterior of the centrifuge with a soft, damp jira uye nyoro detergent. Dzivisa abrasive cleaners kana solvents.
- Rotor Care: Clean the rotor and adapters after each use, especially if there are spills. Use a neutral cleaning solution and rinse thoroughly. Dry completely before reinstallation.
- Disinfection: Disinfect the centrifuge and rotor as needed, following standard laboratory procedures and using appropriate disinfectants compatible with the materials.
- Motokari: The SCI-506 features a maintenance-free brushless DC motor. No user maintenance is required for the motor itself.
- Kuongorora: Periodically inspect the power cord for damage and the rotor for any signs of wear or corrosion.
