1. Setup

1.1 Package Zviri mukati

  1. To power on: Press and hold the power button located on the right side of the device until the screen illuminates.
  2. To power off: Press and hold the power button until the power-off options appear on the screen, then select "Power Off".

1.4 Network Kubatana

The Pocketalk Plus requires an internet connection for translation. It comes with a complimentary 2-year LTE mobile data plan for use in over 130 countries. You can also connect via Wi-Fi.

  • LTE Data: The device automatically connects to the best available mobile network. No setup is required for the included data plan.

2. Operating Instructions

2.1 Voice Translation

The Pocketalk Plus provides two-way voice translation.

  1. Select Languages: On the main screen, tap the language displayed at the top to select your source language, and the language at the bottom to select the target language.
  2. Taura: Press and hold the large button corresponding to the language you wish to speak. Speak clearly into the device's microphone.
  3. Sunungura: Release the button when you finish speaking. The device will translate and speak the translation aloud in the target language.

2.2 Camera Translation

Use the built-in camera to translate text from signs, menus, or documents.

  1. From the main screen, tap the camera icon to activate camera translation mode.
  2. Point the camera at the text you wish to translate. Ensure the text is well-lit and within the frame.
  3. Tap the capture button. The device will process the image and display the translated text on the screen, often overlaid on the original image. An optional audio translation may also be available.

If issues persist, a factory reset may resolve them. This will erase all data and settings on the device.
