3. Setup

3.1 Kuchaja Chishandiso

The M-WAVE K5 comes with a built-in rechargeable Lithium Polymer battery.

  1. Connect the supplied USB Type-C cable to the USB-C port on the side of the controller.

  3. The device will begin charging. The indicator light will show charging status.

Locate the power switch on the side of the device, near the USB-C port.

  • To power on: Slide the switch to the 'ON' position.
  • To power off: Slide the switch to the 'OFF' position.

3.3.1 Kubatanidza Netambo dzeBluetooth

The M-WAVE K5 supports wireless connection to PC, Mac, iOS, and Android devices.

  1. Ensure the M-WAVE K5 is powered on.
  2. Activate Bluetooth on your computer, tablet, or smartphone.
  3. Tsvaga available Bluetooth devices. The M-WAVE K5 should appear as "M-WAVE K5" or similar.
  4. Select the device to pair. The Bluetooth indicator on the controller will confirm a successful connection.

3.3.2 Kubatanidza Netambo ye USB

For a direct connection, use the supplied USB Type-C cable.

  1. Connect one end of the USB Type-C cable to the controller.

  3. The device is plug-and-play and does not require driver installation for basic functionality. It will be automatically recognized by your operating system.

  • Most controls do not require manual adaptation; the device should map automatically within compatible DAWs. Refer to your DAW's documentation for specific MIDI controller setup instructions if needed.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Assignable Controls

The M-WAVE K5 features 8 assignable faders and 8 assignable rotary encoders (knobs), along with multiple assignable buttons.

  • Faders: Each of the 8 faders can be assigned to control track volume, send levels, or other continuous parameters within your DAW. They feature indicator lights for visual feedback.
  • Knobs (Encoders): The 8 rotary knobs can be assigned to control pan, effects parameters, filter cutoff, or any other MIDI-mappable control.
  • Mabhatani: The various buttons (e.g., M, S, R, square buttons below faders, transport controls) can be assigned to functions like mute, solo, record arm, track selection, play, pause, stop, fast forward, rewind, loop, and more.

Refer to your DAW's MIDI mapping or controller assignment features to customize the functions of these controls.

4.2 SHIFT Function

The 'SHIFT' button (located on the top right) allows access to secondary functions for certain controls. Press and hold the 'SHIFT' button while pressing another button or moving a control to activate its secondary function. Consult your DAW's documentation or the M-WAVE software suite (if applicable) for specific shift assignments.

4.3 Mafambiro Ekutakura

The dedicated transport control buttons (Play, Pause, Record, Rewind, Fast Forward, Loop, etc.) provide convenient control over your DAW's playback and recording functions.

5. Kuchengeta

Proper care and maintenance will ensure the longevity of your M-WAVE K5 MIDI Controller.

  • Kuchenesa: Use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth to clean the surface of the device. For stubborn dirt, slightly dampen the cloth with water. Avoid using harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or solvents, as these can damage the silicone and plastic components.
