1. Chigadzirwa Pamusoroview

The SUNLU E2 Filament Dryer is an advanced 2-in-1 solution designed for both drying and annealing 3D printer filaments. Equipped with a powerful 500W PTC heater, it can reach a maximum temperature of 110°C, making it suitable for a wide range of engineering-grade filaments such as PA, PC, Nylon (including GF/CF variants), and more. Its dual-chamber design with a silicone plug ensures superior moisture isolation and thermal insulation, enabling simultaneous drying and annealing. This device helps enhance the strength and dimensional stability of 3D-printed parts by relaxing internal molecular stresses in the filament.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Filament Drying

The E2 Filament Dryer effectively removes moisture from various filament types, improving print quality and preventing common issues like stringing, clogging, and warping.

  • Place the filament spool(s) inside the dryer.
  • Select the appropriate drying temperature and time based on the filament type. The E2 features a 500W PTC heater, capable of reaching 110°C in approximately 30 minutes.
  • Keep the silicone plug open during the drying process to allow moisture to escape.

4.2 Filament Annealing

Annealing heats 3D-printed plastic parts to relax internal molecular stresses, then slowly cools them, enhancing strength and dimensional stability. The E2 is the first FilaDryer capable of annealing engineering filaments at up to 110°C.

  • Load the annealing tray with your 3D printed part.
  • Select Mode 2 for annealing and preheat for 30 minutes.
  • Place the part into the annealing chamber.
  • Adjust the constant temperature time according to the size and material of the part.
  • Optimize with controlled cooling for best results.

5. Kuchengeta

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your SUNLU E2 Filament Dryer.

  • Kuchenesa: Regularly wipe down the exterior and interior of the dryer with a soft, dry cloth. Ensure the unit is unplugged and cool before cleaning.
  • Silicone Strip: The E2 features a one-piece silicone plug for superior moisture isolation. Inspect the silicone strip periodically for any signs of wear or damage. Ensure it is clean and properly seated to maintain airtightness.
  • Air Vents: Keep the air vents clear of any dust or debris to ensure proper airflow and heating efficiency.

6. Kugadzirisa matambudziko

If you encounter issues with your SUNLU E2 Filament Dryer, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Filament Still Damp:
    • Ensure the silicone plug is open during drying to allow moisture to escape.
    • Verify that the selected temperature and drying time are appropriate for the filament type. Some engineering filaments require longer drying times.
    • Check if the ambient humidity is excessively high.
  • Chigadziko Chisingadziyi:
    • Confirm the power cable is securely connected and the power switch is ON.
    • Check if the unit's internal temperature protection switch has been triggered. Allow the unit to cool down and try again.
  • Filament Tangles (especially with 3KG rolls):
    • Ensure the filament is properly seated and can unspool freely.
    • For 3KG rolls, some users have reported issues with the filament pulling from only one side due to the lack of a center hole for the PTFE tube. Ensure the filament path is clear and consider external solutions if persistent tangling occurs.
  • Temperature Overshoot:
    • The unit may slightly overshoot the set temperature (e.g., by 4-5°C). This is generally within operational parameters. Monitor the actual temperature displayed.
