-
Can I cut the Hotwire heating element if it is too long?
No. The heating element (cable) must never be cut, shortened, or lengthened. If you have excess cable, you must adjust the spacing (make loops closer together) or run it along the perimeter, but never cut the wire itself.
-
How long must I wait before turning on the heating after tiling?
You should wait at least 7 days for the tile adhesive and grout to fully cure and dry before turning on the heating system to prevent damage to the floor.
-
What does it mean if the continuity alarm beeps during installation?
If the continuity tester starts beeping at any time during installation, stop immediately. This indicates that the heating element has been damaged. You must locate and repair the fault before continuing.
-
What is the difference between In-Screed and Under-Tile heating?
In-Screed heating is installed within a sand and cement screed bed (usually for bathrooms requiring a slope), whereas Under-Tile heating mats are ultra-thin and installed directly underneath the tiles on top of the subfloor or existing screed.
