This device is designed to integrate advanced smartphone connectivity features into your vehicle's existing infotainment system, enhancing your driving experience with navigation, music, and communication capabilities.

Please note that this product is a CarPlay interface decoder box, not a complete car screen replacement. It works by connecting to your original CD host device, preserving your vehicle's factory screen and features.

This Smart Box is specifically designed for:

  • Vehicle Model: Alfa Giulietta
  • Model Makore: 2014 - 2019
  • Original System: Harman all-in-one machine with a 7-inch screen.

Zvakakosha: Before installation, please verify that your car's original screen has buttons on both sides and matches the 7-inch screen size as shown in the compatibility diagram below.

4. Kuisa Nongedzo

The installation process involves connecting the Smart Box to your vehicle's existing infotainment system. This is a plug-and-play solution that does not require cutting or breaking original car wires, preserving your vehicle's integrity.

Zvakakosha: If you are not confident with car electronics installation, it is highly recommended to seek assistance from a qualified specialist. Ensure all car functions are checked after installation is complete.

4.1. Installation Video Reference

4.2. Key Installation Steps (Summary)

  1. Kugadzirira: Carefully remove the dashboard components to access the original CD host device.
  2. Disassembly of Original Unit: Open the original head unit to access its internal components.
  3. Adapter Board Connection: Connect the provided adapter board and ribbon cable to the original unit's circuit board. Ensure the ribbon cable is securely inserted as indicated by the red arrow in Figure 5.

  5. Main Wiring Harness Connection: Connect the main wiring harness from the Smart Box to the original CD host device. This is a plug-and-play connection.
  6. Reassembly & Testing: Carefully reassemble the original unit and dashboard components. Power on the vehicle and test all functions of the Smart Box and original system.

4.3. Camera Connections and Settings

The Smart Box supports both original factory cameras and aftermarket cameras. Refer to the diagram below for wiring and menu settings.

Camera Wiring (USB / Camera Cable)

  • 1. Kamera yekumberi: Connect to the Front Camera input.
  • 2. Rear Camera: Connect to the Rear Camera input.
  • 3. R/L CVBS IN: Right/Left Composite Video Broadcast Signal Input.
  • 4. Backup light 12V IN: Connect to the vehicle's backup light 12V power supply.
  • 5. Rear Cam 12V OUT: Provides 12V power for the rear camera.
  • 6. Front/Left/Right camera power: Power supply for additional cameras.

Original Camera Settings

For Automatic Car:

  1. The CVBS output is directly inserted into the rear view interface.
  2. Connect the cable labeled 'Rear Cam 12V OUT' to camera power.
  3. Set the system: SettingReverseReverse cameraAftermarket.

For Manual Shift Car:

  1. The CVBS output is directly inserted into the rear view interface.
  2. Connect the cable labeled 'Rear Cam 12V OUT' to camera power.
  3. Connect the reversing detection line to the car's taillight 12V power supply.
  4. Set the system: SettingReverseAftermarket, then make the Reversing mode to be '12V Active'.

5. Operating Instructions

The ZTUZAUTO Smart Box integrates seamlessly with your car's existing controls, allowing for intuitive operation.

5.1. Activating CarPlay / Android Auto

To switch to the CarPlay/Android Auto system interface, press and hold the designated button on your steering wheel or central control panel for 2 seconds.

5.2. CarPlay isina waya uye Android Auto

Connect your smartphone wirelessly to access CarPlay (for iOS) or Android Auto (for Android). This allows you to use navigation, make calls, send messages, and listen to music directly from your car's display.

5.3. Voice Control (Siri / Google Assistant)

Drive safer with voice commands. Use Siri or Google Assistant to get directions, make calls, play music, and more, all while keeping your hands on the wheel and eyes on the road.

5.4. Mirror Link (AirPlay / AutoLink)

The Mirror Link function allows you to project your phone's screen onto the car's display. This is useful for watching online videos, TV news, viewing photos, or using navigation apps directly from your phone.

5.5. USB Multimedia Playback

The Smart Box supports USB multimedia playback, including lossless audio, 720P video, and picture files. Simply connect your USB device to the console or glove box USB port.

  • Audio Control: Supports audio EQ adjustment and separate volume control for music and navigation.
  • Maikorofoni: Utilizes the original car's microphone (reserved installation MIC) and supports automatic correction for calls.
  • Bluetooth: Supports the original car's Bluetooth call function.

6. Kuchengeta

6.1. General Care

  • Keep the Smart Box and connections clean and free from dust.

6.2. Software Updates

It is generally not recommended to update the software if the unit is functioning normally. However, if you encounter any issues, please contact ZTUZAUTO support. Provide your current system version number (accessible via: Module Menu InterfaceSettingsSystem) and our engineers will provide targeted updates to resolve the problem.

7.1. No Display After Installation

  • Resolution Nyaya: If the display resolution is incorrect, contact ZTUZAUTO support for specific update files to upgrade the module.

7.2. No Sound After Connection

  • Fiber Optic Cable: If your car has a fiber optic audio system, ensure the fiber optic cable is correctly connected to the Smart Box's wiring harness.
  • Kushanda kweBluetooth: Confirm your car's original system has Bluetooth phone and Bluetooth music functions. If Bluetooth music is not available, audio may only be routed via the AUX method.
  • Kubatanidza Maikorofoni: Check that the microphone cable is fully connected to the module and that the microphone setup is correct.
