1. Nhanganyaya

The SmartGen EP4300/EP4301 Engine Controller is a sophisticated CAN instrument designed for the control and data display of engines, particularly electric-controlled models. It facilitates essential functions such as engine start/stop, speed control, data measurement, and alarm display. Featuring a color LCD display and powered by 32-bit microprocessor technology, it offers precise measurement of various parameters, value adjustment, and threshold setting. Its compact structure, simple wiring, and high reliability make it suitable for diverse engine automation systems. Parameters can be adjusted directly from the front panel or via USB/RS485 ports using a PC.

2. Setup uye Kuiswa

2.1. Kusunungura uye Kuongorora

Carefully unpack the controller and inspect for any signs of damage. Ensure all components are present according to the packing list.

2.2. Mounting

The controller is designed for panel mounting. Ensure adequate space for ventilation and access to rear connections.

2.3. Wiring Connections

Refer to the wiring diagram below for proper connection of power, sensors, auxiliary inputs/outputs, and communication ports (CANBUS, RS485, USB).

After all connections are verified, apply power to the controller. The display should illuminate, and the system will initiate its startup sequence.

The color LCD display provides real-time data and status information. Key indicators include:

3.2. Control Buttons and Knob

The controller features several buttons and a central knob for navigation and control:

  • User-defined Buttons (1-4): These buttons can be configured for specific functions as per the system's requirements.
  • Pfundo: Used for navigating through menus, adjusting values, and confirming selections.

3.3. Parameter Adjustment

Most operational parameters and thresholds can be adjusted directly from the front panel using the knob and buttons. For advanced configuration or bulk adjustments, connect the controller to a PC via the USB or RS485 port and use the dedicated SmartGen software.
