This manual provides detailed instructions for the SIMcom A7670E-LASE Development Board. The A7670E-LASE is an LTE Cat 1 module designed for wireless communication, supporting LTE-TDD/LTE-FDD/GSM/GPRS/EDGE modes. It offers a maximum downlink rate of 10Mbps and an uplink rate of 5Mbps. This product is a module development board and includes only the module itself, not a SIM card.

2. Chigadzirwa Pamusoroview

The A7670 series utilizes an LGA form factor, making it compatible with SIM7000/SIM7070 series (NB/Cat M modules) and SIM800A/SIM800F (2G modules). This compatibility allows for seamless migration from 2G/NB/Cat M products to LTE Cat 1 products, simplifying product design for various customer needs.

It supports multiple built-in network protocols and provides drivers for major operating systems, including Windows, Linux, and Android. AT commands are compatible with SIM7500/SIM7600 series modules. The A7670 series integrates standard industrial interfaces such as UART, USB, I2C, and GPIO, offering powerful expandability for IoT applications like telematics, surveillance devices, POS systems, industrial routers, and remote diagnostics.

4. Setup uye Kuiswa

The A7670E-LASE development board is designed for ease of integration. Follow these steps for initial setup:

  1. Isa SIM Kadhi: Ensure the module is powered off. Carefully insert a MIRCO SIM card into the designated slot on the board.
  2. Batanidza Simba: Connect a USB power source (5-16V DC) to the Micro USB port on the board.
  3. Antenna Connection (Optional): If using an external antenna, connect it to the appropriate connector on the board.

4.1 Mhinduro dzeSimba-On

The module supports two power-on methods:

  1. Default Power-On: The product is configured for default automatic boot.
  2. POWRKEY Power-On Solution: For hardware developers requiring a specific power-on sequence, it is necessary to remove the material (components) with bit numbers R3 and C5 on the PWK/RST pin. This modification allows for a controlled power-on via the POWRKEY pin.

Special Note: The default automatic boot is standard. The POWRKEY boot solution requires hardware modification and is not considered a product defect.

5. Operating Instructions

Once the module is powered on, the Power/Network LED will indicate its status. The module can be interfaced via USB or UART.

  • Network Protocols: The module supports various network protocols including TCP/IP, IPV4/IPV6, FTP/FTPS, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, RNDIS, ECM, and PPP, allowing for flexible data communication.

  • Storage: Store the module in a dry, cool environment, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. The operating temperature range is -40℃ to 85℃.
