5. Operating Instructions
The Sealey MM20HV offers 8 functions for various electrical measurements.
5.1. Simba On / Off
Rotate the central function dial from the "OFF" position to any desired measurement function to turn the multimeter on. To turn off, rotate the dial back to "OFF".
5.2. Kuyera DC Voltage (V=)
- Insert the black lead into the "COM" jack and the red lead into the "VΩmA" jack.
- Set the function dial to the desired DC Voltage range (semuenzaniso, 200mV, 2V, 20V, 200V, 600V). Kana voltage is unknown, start with the highest range and decrease as necessary.
- Batanidza ma test probes pakati pechikamu kana circuit kuti ayerwe.
- Verenga bhukutage kukosha pane LCD kuratidza.
5.3. Kuyera AC Voltage (V~)
- Insert the black lead into the "COM" jack and the red lead into the "VΩmA" jack.
- Set the function dial to the desired AC Voltage range (semuenzaniso, 200V, 600V).
- Connect the test probes across the AC voltage source.
- Verenga bhukutage kukosha pane LCD kuratidza.
5.4. Measuring DC Current (A=)
Yambiro: Usambofa wakabatanidza multimeter panguva imwe chete nevoltage source paunenge uchiyera current. Gara uchibatanidza zvinhu zvakatevedzana nemutoro.
- Insert the black lead into the "COM" jack.
- For currents up to 200mA, insert the red lead into the "VΩmA" jack. For currents up to 10A, insert the red lead into the "10A DC" jack.
- Set the function dial to the appropriate DC Current range (e.g., 2mA, 20mA, 200mA, 10A).
- Vhura dunhu rinofanira kuyerwa magetsi uye batanidza multimeter muzvikamu zvakatevedzana.
- Verenga kukosha kwazvino paLCD kuratidza.
5.5. Kuyera Kuramba (Ω)
Yambiro: Ita shuwa kuti dunhu harina-simba uye ese ma capacitor anoburitswa asati ayera kuramba.
- Insert the black lead into the "COM" jack and the red lead into the "VΩmA" jack.
- Set the function dial to the desired Resistance range (e.g., 200Ω, 2kΩ, 20kΩ, 200kΩ, 2MΩ).
- Connect the test probes across the component whose resistance is to be measured.
- Verenga kukosha kwekupikisa pane LCD kuratidza.
5.6. Inonzwika Kuenderera Muedzo
This function allows for quick checks of circuit continuity with an audible tone.
- Insert the black lead into the "COM" jack and the red lead into the "VΩmA" jack.
- Set the function dial to the continuity symbol (often shared with diode test).
- Batanidza test probes kudunhu rose kana chikamu.
- An audible tone indicates continuity (low resistance). The display will show the resistance value.
5.7. Diode/Transistor Verification
This function allows for testing diodes and transistors.
- Insert the black lead into the "COM" jack and the red lead into the "VΩmA" jack.
- Set the function dial to the diode symbol.
- For diode testing, connect the red probe to the anode and the black probe to the cathode. The display will show the forward voltage drop. Reverse the probes; the display should show "OL" (Open Loop) for a good diode.
- For transistor (hFE) testing, insert the transistor leads into the appropriate NPN or PNP sockets on the multimeter. The display will show the hFE value.
5.8. Measuring Temperature (°C)
The multimeter includes a thermocouple for temperature measurements.
- Remove the test leads from the input jacks.
- Insert the thermocouple plug into the "VΩmA" and "COM" jacks, observing polarity if indicated.
- Set the function dial to the "°C" range.
- Place the tip of the thermocouple on or near the object whose temperature is to be measured.
- Read the temperature value in Celsius on the LCD display.
5.9. Data Bata Basa
Press the "HOLD" button (typically a green button on the front panel) to freeze the current reading on the display. Press it again to release the hold and resume live readings.
6. Kuchengeta
6.1. Kuchenesa
Pukuta nyaya yacho neadamp cloth and mild detergent. Do not use abrasives or solvents. Ensure the device is off and disconnected from any circuits before cleaning.
6.2. Kutsiviwa kwebhatiri
When the battery indicator appears on the display, replace the batteries as described in Section 4.1. Always use fresh AAA batteries.
6.3. Fuse Replacement
If the current measurement function stops working, the fuse may need replacement.
- Iva nechokwadi chekuti multimeter yadzimwa uye kuti ma test lead ese abviswa.
- Remove the battery compartment cover and batteries.
- Locate the fuse(s) inside the compartment. The MM20HV typically uses a 200mA/250V fast-blow fuse for the mA range and a 10A/250V fast-blow fuse for the 10A range.
- Carefully remove the old fuse and replace it with a new fuse of the exact same type and rating.
- Replace the batteries and battery compartment cover.
Zvakakosha: Never use a fuse with a different rating or bypass a fuse. This can damage the multimeter and pose a serious safety hazard.
7. Kugadzirisa matambudziko
