3. Setup

Follow these steps to set up your Numark Mixdeck Express for optimal performance:

1. Power Connection: Connect the included AC power cable to the Mixdeck Express and a power outlet.
2. USB Connection (for computer control): Connect the USB-to-computer port on the Mixdeck Express to an available USB port on your computer using the provided USB cable.
3. Audio Output:
   • For balanced audio, connect your sound system to the XLR master outputs (L+R).

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Media Playback (CD/MP3 CD & USB)

1. Loading Media:
   • For CDs, insert the disc into the slot-loading drive.
   • For USB, insert a USB thumb drive or hard drive into one of the two USB thumbdrive ports. Ensure your audio files are MP3 format and the drive is formatted as HFS+, FAT, or NTFS.
2. Track Sarudzo: Use the browse knob and radiant LCD screen to navigate and select tracks.
3. Playback Controls: Use the Play/Pause, Cue, and Sync buttons for basic track control.

4.2 Mixing and Effects

• Mixer Controls: Adjust the 3-channel EQ (Treble, Mid, Bass) and rotary kills for each channel. Use the crossfader for smooth transitions between decks.
• Pitch Control: Use the long-throw pitch controls with ±6, 12, 25, 100% ranges for beat matching.
• Looping and Effects: Engage seamless looping, reverse, and brake features to customize your mix. The unit also includes various effects for creative sound manipulation.
• Performance Mapedhi: Access hot cues, auto loops, fader cuts, and samples using the dedicated performance pads for dynamic live performances.
