The Midas 512 is a 500 Series module and requires a compatible 500 Series rack or chassis for operation. Ensure your rack provides adequate power and proper signal routing.
Installation into a 500 Series Rack
- Ensure the 500 Series rack is powered off before installation.
- Carefully align the module's edge connector with the corresponding slot in the 500 Series rack.
- Gently push the module into the slot until it is fully seated. Do not force the module.
- Secure the module using the mounting screws provided with your 500 Series rack.
- Once all modules are installed, you may power on your 500 Series rack.
Connections
The Midas 512 module receives and sends audio signals through the 500 Series rack's backplane. Refer to your 500 Series rack's manual for specific input and output configurations.

Operating Instruction
The Midas 512 features four fully parametric bands, each offering precise control over gain, frequency, and bandwidth.

Kudzora Pamusoroview
- Gain (Inner Knob): Adjusts the boost or cut level for the selected frequency band.
- Frequency (Outer Knob): Selects the center frequency for the equalization band.
- Width (Q) (Small Knob): Controls the bandwidth of the equalization curve. A lower value results in a wider curve, affecting a broader range of frequencies, while a higher value creates a narrower, more precise curve.
- Bell/Shelving Switch (Bass & Treble Bands): Toggles between a bell-shaped curve (affecting frequencies around the center point) and a shelving curve (boosting or cutting all frequencies above/below the selected frequency).
- IN Button: Engages or bypasses the equalizer circuit. When engaged, the LED typically illuminates.
Band Specific Controls
The Midas 512 features four distinct bands:
- Bass Band: Controls frequencies from 20 Hz to 400 Hz. Features a Bell/Shelving switch.
- Lo Mid Band: Controls frequencies from 100 Hz to 2 kHz. This band operates in bell mode only.
- Hi Mid Band: Controls frequencies from 300 Hz to 8 kHz. This band operates in bell mode only.
- Treble Band: Controls frequencies from 1 kHz to 20 kHz. Features a Bell/Shelving switch.
Precision dual concentric controls provide instant access to fully variable gain and frequency settings, allowing for fast and easy setup.
Fully variable bandwidth controls are available on all four bands when in bell mode, offering detailed shaping of the frequency response.
Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Midas 512 equalizer, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Kuchenesa: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the module. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or waxes, as these can damage the finish or internal components.
