Installation Guide

The Defiant DFI-5852-BK flood light is designed for straightforward installation, typically completed in three easy steps. It can be mounted on either a wall or an eave.

Mounting Options

• Wall Mount: Secure the fixture directly to a vertical wall surface.

General Installation Matanho

1. Gadzirira Wiring: Turn off power at the circuit breaker. Remove the existing fixture (if any) and expose the electrical box wiring.
2. Batanidza Mounting Bracket: Secure the provided mounting bracket to the electrical box. Ensure the bracket is oriented correctly for your chosen mounting option (wall or eave).
3. Batanidza Wiring: Connect the flood light's wires to your household wiring using wire nuts. Typically, black to black (live), white to white (neutral), and green/bare copper to green/bare copper (ground).
4. Mount Fixture: Carefully align the flood light unit with the mounting bracket and secure it in place with the provided screws. Ensure the gasket creates a tight seal against the mounting surface to prevent water intrusion.
5. Chisimbiso (kana zvichidikanwa): Apply a bead of silicone caulk around the base of the fixture where it meets the mounting surface for added weather protection, especially on uneven surfaces.

Operating Instruction

Motion Activated Mode

The flood light features a 180-degree motion-activated sensor that detects movement within its range, automatically turning on the light. The light will remain on for the set duration after motion is no longer detected.

Motion-Off / Dusk-to-Dawn Mode

This flood light includes a unique Motion-Off technology. By adjusting the sensor settings, you can disable the motion detection feature. In this mode, the internal photocell will activate the light at dusk and turn it off at dawn, providing continuous illumination throughout the night.
