WARNING: NEVER look directly at the sun through your telescope or its finderscope, even for an instant, without a professionally manufactured solar filter that completely covers the front of the instrument. Permanent and irreversible eye damage, including blindness, will result. Always supervise children using the telescope.
Do not point the telescope at the sun without proper filtration. Ensure all components are securely fastened before use. Handle optical components with care to avoid damage.

Setup Instructions
Follow these steps to assemble your BARSKA Starwatcher telescope:
- Gadzira iyo Tripod: Spread the tripod legs until they are fully extended. Secure the accessory tray to the center brace of the tripod. Adjust the leg height to your desired viewing position and lock them in place.
- Batanidza iyo Telescope Tube: Locate the mounting bracket on the telescope tube. Align it with the altazimuth mount on top of the tripod. Secure the telescope tube to the mount using the provided screws or knobs. Ensure it is firmly attached.
- Isa iyo Finderscope: Slide the finderscope into its bracket on the main telescope tube. Tighten the small set screws on the bracket to hold the finderscope securely in place.
- Insert the Diagonal: Loosen the set screw on the focuser tube at the back of the telescope. Insert the 90-degree erect image diagonal into the focuser tube and tighten the set screw to secure it.
- Isa Eyepiece: Loosen the set screw on the diagonal. Insert your chosen eyepiece into the diagonal and tighten the set screw. For initial setup, start with the lowest power eyepiece (highest focal length, e.g., 20mm) for the widest field of view.
- Attach the Barlow Lens (Optional): To increase magnification, insert the 3x Barlow lens into the diagonal first, then insert an eyepiece into the Barlow lens.

Kushandisa Telescope
Kugadzirisa iyo Finderscope
The finderscope is a low-power, wide-field telescope that helps you locate objects before viewing them with the main telescope. It must be aligned with the main telescope:
- Point the main telescope at a distant, stationary object (e.g., a tree top or street light) during daylight hours.
- Center the object in the main telescope's eyepiece.
- Look through the finderscope and adjust its alignment screws until the same object is centered in the finderscope's crosshairs.

Kutarisa
Once an object is centered in your eyepiece, turn the focus knob slowly until the image appears sharp and clear. Fine adjustments may be needed as objects move or as your eyes adjust.
Kuchinja Kukudzwa
To change magnification, simply swap eyepieces. Eyepieces with lower focal length numbers (e.g., 4mm) provide higher magnification, while those with higher numbers (e.g., 20mm) provide lower magnification and a wider field of view. The 3x Barlow lens triples the magnification of any eyepiece it is used with.
Using the Altazimuth Mount
The altazimuth mount allows for simple up-down (altitude) and left-right (azimuth) movement. Use the slow-motion controls (if present) for precise tracking of celestial objects as they drift across the sky due to Earth's rotation.
Maintenance
Proper care will extend the life and performance of your telescope:
- Kuchenesa Optics: Use a soft, lint-free cloth specifically designed for optical lenses. Gently brush away any dust particles. For smudges, use a specialized optical cleaning solution and cloth. Avoid touching the lens surfaces with your fingers.
- Kuchenesa Muviri: Wipe down the telescope tube and tripod with a soft, damp jira. Dzivisa abrasive cleaners.
- Kuchengeta: Store the telescope in a dry, dust-free environment. Keep the dust caps on the optical tube and eyepieces when not in use to protect the lenses.
- Dzivisa Kunyanya Kupisa: Do not expose the telescope to rapid temperature changes or extreme heat/cold, as this can affect optical components.

Heano mhinduro kumatambudziko akajairika aungasangana nawo:
| Dambudziko | Zvinogona Kukonzera | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Mufananidzo hauna kujeka kana kuti hauna kutariswa. | Incorrect focus; atmospheric conditions; dirty optics. | Adjust the focus knob slowly. Wait for stable atmospheric conditions. Clean the lenses carefully. |
| Hatikwanisi kuwana zvinhu. | Finderscope not aligned; incorrect aiming. | Align the finderscope with the main telescope during daylight. Start with the lowest power eyepiece for a wider field of view. |
| Mufananidzo wakasviba kana kuti wakasviba. | Too high magnification; light pollution; dirty optics. | Use a lower power eyepiece. Move to a darker viewing location. Clean the lenses. |
| Mufananidzo wakapidiguka pasi kana kudzoserwa kumashure. | Normal for astronomical telescopes without an erect image diagonal. | The included 90-degree erect image diagonal corrects the image for terrestrial viewing. For astronomical viewing, an inverted image is common and does not affect observation. |
