Proper setup ensures optimal performance of your CD-400U. Follow these steps for installation and connection.

The CD-400U is designed for rackmount installation. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit.

Operating Instruction

The CD-400U offers multiple playback and recording functionalities. This section details how to operate each feature.

Front Panel Controls

The front panel provides essential playback controls (Play, Stop, Pause, Fast Forward/Rewind) and menu navigation. A locking feature is available to prevent accidental operation.

CD Playback

  1. Insert an audio CD or data CD into the slot.
  2. Press the SOURCE button until 'CD' appears on the display.
  3. Press ITAMBA kutanga kutamba.
  4. Use the numerical keypad or multi-jog dial to select tracks.

USB/SD Kutamba

  1. Insert a USB memory device or SD/SDHC card into the respective slot.
  2. Press the SOURCE button until 'USB' or 'SD' appears on the display.

Bluetooth Wireless Playback

  1. Press the SOURCE button until 'Bluetooth' appears on the display.
  2. Hold the Kubiridzira button for approximately 2 seconds to enter pairing mode.
  3. On your Bluetooth device (e.g., smartphone, tablet), search for 'CD-400U' and select it to pair.
  4. Once paired, you can stream music wirelessly. Press the Kubiridzira button again to reconnect after initial pairing.

AM/FM Tuner Operation

  1. Press the SOURCE button until 'FM' or 'AM' appears on the display.
  2. Use the left/right arrow buttons or the multi-jog dial to tune to a station.
  3. To automatically find the next station, press the double arrow buttons (Fast Forward/Rewind).
  4. To set presets, press SHIFT zvino A.PRESET. Press the multi-jog dial to confirm. Up to 20 presets can be saved.

Dubbing Function

The CD-400U allows dubbing audio from a CD or tuner to an SD/SDHC card or USB memory device without needing a computer.

  1. Set the source to either CD or AM/FM.

Power On Play

This feature allows the unit to automatically resume playback from the last source when powered on. To enable/disable, press SHIFT zvino P.O.PLAY.

Panel Lock

To prevent unauthorized operation, you can lock the front panel controls. Press SHIFT zvino LOCK. To unlock, repeat the process.

Incremental Play

When enabled, this function allows the unit to skip to the beginning of the next track when the PLAY button is pressed during playback. When the STOP button is pressed during playback, the unit skips to the beginning of the next track and stands by.

Serial Mode

This setting allows you to choose whether the unit is controlled remotely via RS-232C or Ethernet (with optional card).

Tuner Out Select

You can route the tuner audio through the main stereo outputs or exclusively through the independent tuner outputs.

Dubbing Format

When dubbing, you can select the audio quality and resolution (e.g., MP3: 128 kbps, WAV) to manage available recording time.

IR Remote Lock

If the front panel is locked, the IR remote can also be locked to prevent control.
