Safety Information

The Retrospec Dakota Helmet is designed to reduce the risk of head injury during impact. For maximum protection, the helmet must fit properly and all retention straps must be securely fastened. This helmet is certified to meet safety standards STM F2040-11 / ASTM F1446, EN 1077, and EN 1078 for bike, skate, and ski use. Always inspect your helmet for damage before each use. 1. Sizing Your Helmet

2. Adjusting for a Custom Fit

  1. Insert Pads: The helmet comes with two sets of interchangeable inner pads of varying thickness. Choose the set that provides a snug, comfortable fit without excessive pressure points. The pads attach with hook-and-loop fasteners inside the helmet.
  2. Positioning: Place the helmet squarely on your head, ensuring it covers your forehead. It should not be tilted back or forward.
  3. Strap Adjustment: Fasten the chin strap buckle. Adjust the straps so they form a 'V' shape just below your ears. The chin strap should be snug enough that you can only fit one or two fingers between the strap and your chin.
