3. Setup and Initial Connection

The Cadac CITI Chef 40 requires minimal assembly. Follow these steps for safe initial setup:

    • Leak Test: Before first use and after every gas cylinder change, perform a leak test. Apply a soapy water solution to all gas connections. If bubbles appear, there is a leak. Tighten connections and re-test. If leaks persist, do not use the appliance and contact customer support.
  4. Insert Fat Pan: Place the removable fat pan into the main body of the barbecue.
  5. Select Cooking Surface: Choose either the GreenGrill ceramic coated grill plate or the pot stand and place it securely on the fat pan.

4. Operating Instructions

Ignition Procedure (Piezo Ignition)

  4. If the burner does not ignite within 5 seconds, turn the control knob to 'OFF', wait 5 minutes for gas to disperse, and repeat the ignition procedure.
  5. Once ignited, release the control knob.
