The Listen Technologies Wi-Fi/RF Base System Standard (Model LCS-120-01) is an advanced assistive listening system designed to provide compliant audio coverage by combining both RF (Radio Frequency) and Wi-Fi technologies. This system expands audio reach, allowing users to receive audio through dedicated receiving devices or personal smart devices via a free smartphone application. It is ideal for venues requiring robust and flexible audio distribution.
System Zvikamu
The LCS-120-01 system includes the following components:

Mufananidzo 1: Kupfuuraview of the Listen Technologies Wi-Fi/RF Base System components.
- One (1) MX5-1AE 2 Channel (mono) Wi-Fi Server: This unit (top left in Figure 1) enables audio broadcasting over Wi-Fi frequencies (2.4/5.0 GHz). It is compatible with Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11 standards and can support up to 1,000 simultaneous users. It connects to the venue's existing LAN via an RJ45 Ethernet connection.
- One (1) LW-100AE Venue Awareness Kit: Used for configuring and managing the Wi-Fi system.
- One (1) LT-803-072-P1 Stationary 3-Channel Transmitter Package (72 MHz): This transmitter (middle in Figure 1) broadcasts audio over the 72 MHz RF frequency. It can operate on channels A (72.100 MHz), E (72.900 MHz), or H (75.900 MHz). It features two mixing audio inputs and adjustable output power.
- One (1) LPT-A107-B Dual RCA to Dual RCA Cable 6.6 ft. (2 M): For connecting audio sources to the transmitter.
- Two (2) LR-200-072 Standard 3-Channel Receiver (72 MHz): These portable receivers (bottom right in Figure 1) allow users to receive audio broadcasted over the 72 MHz RF frequency.
- Two (2) LA-164 Ear Speaker: These ear speakers (bottom middle in Figure 1) connect to the LR-200-072 receivers for audio output.
- Two (2) LA-166 Neck Loops: These neck loops (bottom left in Figure 1) provide an inductive coupling to hearing aids equipped with a T-coil, allowing direct audio reception.
Setup Instructions
- Power Connection: Connect the power adapters to the MX5-1AE Wi-Fi Server and the LT-803-072-P1 Transmitter. Ensure they are plugged into a stable power source.
- Audio Source Connection: Use the LPT-A107-B Dual RCA cable to connect your audio source (e.g., mixer, sound system) to the audio inputs on the LT-803-072-P1 Transmitter. The transmitter has two mixing audio inputs.
- Network Connection (Wi-Fi Server): Connect the MX5-1AE Wi-Fi Server to your venue's local area network (LAN) using an RJ45 Ethernet cable. This enables the Wi-Fi audio streaming functionality.
- Transmitter Channel Selection: On the LT-803-072-P1 Transmitter, select the desired RF channel (A, E, or H) using the channel select controls. Refer to the transmitter's display for confirmation.
- Receiver Preparation: For RF users, insert the LA-164 Ear Speakers or LA-166 Neck Loops into the LR-200-072 Standard Receivers. Ensure the receivers have fresh batteries.
- Wi-Fi App Setup: Instruct users to download the free Listen Technologies app on their personal smart devices (phones, tablets). When launched, the app will automatically connect to the Wi-Fi server and display available audio channels.
- System Testing: Before full deployment, perform a test to ensure audio is broadcasting correctly on both RF and Wi-Fi frequencies. Verify audio clarity and signal strength in various areas of the venue.
Operating Instruction
RF System Operation (72 MHz)
- Transmitter Control: Adjust the input levels and mix level on the LT-803-072-P1 Transmitter to achieve optimal audio quality. The input level indicators will help prevent clipping. The output power can be adjusted to quarter, half, or full depending on the required coverage area.
- Receiver Kushandisa: Users power on the LR-200-072 receivers and select the corresponding channel to the transmitter. They can then listen through the connected ear speakers or neck loops.
Wi-Fi System Operation (2.4/5.0 GHz)
- App Connection: Users open the Listen Technologies app on their smartphone or tablet. The app automatically detects and connects to the MX5-1AE Wi-Fi Server.
- Kusarudzwa kweChannel: The app displays a list of available audio channels. Users select their desired channel to begin listening.
- Customization: The app is customizable, allowing venues to integrate their color palette, logos, user documentation, instructions, and even promotional content.
Maintenance
- Kuchenesa: Regularly wipe down all system components with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Kutsiva Bhatiri: For the LR-200-072 receivers, replace batteries as needed to ensure continuous operation. Use recommended battery types.
- Firmware Dzokorora: Periodically check the Listen Technologies website for firmware updates for the Wi-Fi Server and Transmitter to ensure optimal performance and access to new features.
- Cable Inspection: Inspect all cables for signs of wear or damage. Replace any damaged cables immediately to prevent signal loss or system malfunction.
