5. Setup

5.1 Attaching the FIZ Hand Unit

1. Ensure your camera rig is stable and powered off.
2. Mount the Nucleus-M FIZ Hand Unit to your preferred location on the rig using compatible mounting accessories.
3. Connect the FIZ Hand Unit to the Nucleus-M motors (sold separately) via wireless pairing. Refer to the Nucleus-M motor manual for detailed pairing instructions.
4. Attach the appropriate gear rings to your lens's focus, iris, and zoom rings.
5. Align the FIZ Hand Unit's drive gears with the lens gear rings.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Kubatidza/Kudzima

• Press and hold the power button on the FIZ Hand Unit to turn it on or off.
• The backlit LED display will illuminate upon power-on.

6.2 Calibrating Lenses

• Lenses can be calibrated either automatically or manually.
• For automatic calibration, follow the on-screen prompts on the LED display.
• For manual calibration, adjust the lens to its minimum and maximum focus/iris/zoom points and confirm on the unit.

6.3 Adjusting Focus, Iris, and Zoom

• Use the large, wood-edged focus knob for precise focus control.
• Utilize the responsive zoom joystick for zoom adjustments.
• Adjust the iris wheel for aperture control.

6.4 Setting Soft Stops

• The unit allows setting up to 10 soft stops with vibration alerts for focus pulls.
• Access the soft stop menu via the unit's interface and follow instructions to set your desired A and B points.

6.5 Wireless Run/Stop Functionality

• The FIZ Hand Unit supports wireless run/stop functionality for select cameras.
• This requires separately available cables specific to your camera model.

• Keep the FIZ Hand Unit clean and free from dust and debris. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.

• Minimize interference from other wireless devices in the area.

8.3 Inaccurate Focus/Iris/Zoom Control

• Recalibrate the lenses (automatic or manual).
• Ensure the drive gears are properly engaged with the lens gear rings.
• Check for any physical obstructions or damage to the gears.
