Measuring for Proper Fit

Before installation, ensure you have the correct seat size (Round or Elongated) for your toilet bowl. The Bemis Aurora seat is designed for round bowls.

1. Measure the distance between the bolt holes at the back of your toilet bowl. Standard distance is 5.5 inches.
2. Measure from the center of the bolt holes to the front edge of the toilet bowl.

4. For an Elongated toilet, this measurement should be approximately 18.5 inches (47 cm).

Installation Instructions

The Bemis Aurora toilet seat features the STA-TITE Seat Fastening System for a secure installation.

• 5/8" (16mm) wrench or ratchet with a 5/8" (16mm) socket.

1. Insert the bolts (A) with the arrow shown on the bolt head pointing towards the front of the toilet.
2. Open the hinge caps on the seat.
3. Place the seat onto the toilet bowl, aligning the hinges with the bolts.
4. From underneath the toilet bowl, lightly finger-tighten the nuts (B) onto the bolts.
5. Adjust the seat for a perfect front-to-back fit on the toilet bowl.
6. While holding the seat centered, tighten the nuts (B) with a 5/8" (16mm) wrench or socket until the bottom portion of the nut snaps off. Discard the snapped-off portion. This indicates proper tightening.
7. Close the hinge caps.

Operating Instruction

The primary operation of this toilet seat involves its slow-close feature. To engage the slow-close mechanism, simply push the lid or seat down gently. It will then lower itself slowly and quietly without requiring manual guidance.

• Difficulty Accessing Nuts: Some toilet designs may have enclosed areas making it difficult to access the nuts from underneath. In such cases, specialized tools or alternative mounting hardware might be required, or consult a professional.
