3. Setup uye Kuiswa

The QSFPTEK 10G SFP+ RJ45 Module is designed for simple plug-and-play installation. No complex configuration is required.

  1. Ensure your network device (switch, router, server) has an available SFP+ port.
  2. Gently insert the QSFPTEK 10G SFP+ RJ45 Module into the SFP+ port until it clicks into place. The module supports hot-swapping, allowing installation without powering down the device.
  3. Connect a CAT6a or CAT7 Ethernet cable from the RJ45 port of the module to your desired network device (e.g., workstation, server, another switch).
  4. Verify the link status indicators on your network device to confirm successful connection and data transmission.

4. Kushanda

Once installed, the QSFPTEK 10G SFP+ RJ45 Module operates automatically, providing high-speed network connectivity. It supports auto-negotiation for various Ethernet speeds, adapting to 10Gbe, 5G, 2.5G, and 1.25G depending on the connected equipment.

5. Kuchengeta

The QSFPTEK 10G SFP+ RJ45 Module is designed for long-term reliability and requires minimal maintenance. Keep the module and connected cables clean and free from dust to ensure optimal performance.

It is normal for the module to generate some heat during operation due to its 2.5W power consumption, especially under heavy load. This does not affect the module's function or longevity. In environments with limited airflow, consider ensuring adequate ventilation around your network equipment to dissipate heat effectively.

  • This is expected behavior and does not indicate a fault.
  • Ensure proper ventilation around the network equipment. Consider adding a small fan if operating in a confined space.
Lower than expected speed (e.g., 1Gbps instead of 10Gbps)
  • Connected device does not support 10Gbps.
  • Cable quality or length issues.
  • Network device port speed settings.
  • Verify the capabilities of the connected Ethernet device.
  • Use high-quality CAT6a/CAT7 cables and ensure length is within specifications.
  • Check and configure the port speed settings on your network switch or device.
