For optimal performance and safety, connect the dust extraction port to an external dust collector or shop vacuum. This will help keep the work area clean and prevent chip buildup.

Operating the Planer

General Operation Safety

  • Always ensure the machine is stable and secured to a workbench or stand.
  • Never plane material shorter than 300 mm (12 inches) or thinner than 6 mm (1/4 inch) without a push block.
  • Feed material slowly and consistently. Avoid sudden movements.
  • Do not remove more than 2 mm of material in a single pass.

Surface Planing (Jointer Function)

  1. Adjust the infeed table to the desired depth of cut (maximum 2 mm).
  2. Set the planing fence to the required angle (typically 90 degrees).
  3. Turn on the machine and allow it to reach full speed.
  4. Place the workpiece on the infeed table and push it smoothly and evenly across the cutter head and onto the outfeed table. Maintain constant pressure.
  5. Ensure the workpiece is fully supported throughout the cut.
