4.1 Zvishandiso Zvinodiwa
- Phillips head screwdriver or power drill with appropriate bit

- Drill bits for pilot holes (recommended to prevent wood splitting)
4.2 Matanho ekuisa
- Prepare Door and Frame: Ensure that the door and door frame have correctly sized mortises (recesses) for the 4x4 hinges with 5/8 inch radius corners. If not, carefully rout or chisel the mortises to the correct depth so the hinge leaves sit flush with the surface.
- Mark Hinge Locations: Position the hinge leaves within the mortises on both the door and the door frame. Use a pencil to mark the center of each screw hole.
- Drill Pilot Holes: Using a drill bit slightly smaller than the screw diameter, drill pilot holes at each marked location. This prevents wood splitting and ensures screws drive in straight.
- Namatira mahinji paMusuwo: Secure one leaf of each hinge to the door using appropriate screws (not included). Ensure the hinges are flush and aligned.
- Mount Door to Frame: Carefully position the door into the door frame, aligning the remaining hinge leaves with the mortises on the frame. It is recommended to have assistance for this step.
- Secure Hinges to Frame: Attach the remaining hinge leaves to the door frame using screws, ensuring all hinges are properly seated and secured.
- Test Operation: Gently open and close the door to check for smooth operation, proper alignment, and clearance. Adjust screws if necessary to achieve optimal performance.
5. Kushanda
Once installed, the Emtek 9100 Steel Hinges allow your door to pivot smoothly. No specific operational steps are required beyond the normal use of a door. Ensure that the door is not subjected to excessive force or sudden impacts, which could damage the hinges or the door structure.
6. Kuchengeta
Regular maintenance helps preserve the appearance and functionality of your hinges.
