Operating Instruction

Basic Operation:

  1. Batidza/Kudzima: The volume knob typically doubles as the power switch. Rotate it clockwise to turn the radio on and counter-clockwise until it clicks to turn it off.
  2. Kugadzirisa Inzwi: Rotate the volume knob to increase or decrease the audio output.
  3. Kusarudza Band: Use the band selector switch (located on the side or back, as shown in Figure 2) to choose your desired frequency band:
    • FM: For local FM radio stations (88-108 MHz).
    • MW (Medium Wave): For AM radio stations (550-1650 KHz).
    • SW (Short Wave): For international and long-distance broadcasts (various MHz ranges).
    • TV1/TV2: For specific TV audio broadcasts (various MHz ranges).
  4. Kutarisa kuChiteshi:
    • Extend the telescopic antenna fully for optimal reception, especially for FM and SW bands.
    • Slowly rotate the tuning dial until you hear a clear broadcast.
    • Adjust the antenna position and length for the best signal clarity.

Kugadzirisa Reception:

  • For FM and Shortwave, extend the telescopic antenna.
  • For Medium Wave (AM), the radio uses an internal ferrite bar antenna. Rotate the radio unit itself for best reception.
  • Avoid placing the radio near large metal objects, electronic devices, or concrete walls, which can interfere with reception.

Maintenance

  • A slight warmth is normal. If it becomes excessively hot to touch or emits a burning smell, immediately disconnect power and contact customer support.
