- Positioning the System: Place the filter system on a firm, level surface, preferably concrete, at least 2 feet from the pool. Ensure the location allows for proper drainage when backwashing.
- Assembling the Tank Base: Secure the sand filter tank onto its base.
- Installing Lateral Assembly: Insert the manifold lateral assembly into the bottom of the filter tank. Ensure laterals are spread evenly.
- Kuwedzera Jecha Rekusefa: Carefully pour approximately 120 pounds of #20 silica sand (0.45-0.55mm) into the filter tank. Ensure the manifold tube remains centered during this process. Fill the tank about two-thirds full.
- Attaching the Six-Way Valve: Place the six-way valve onto the top of the filter tank, aligning the ports. Secure it with the flange clamp, ensuring a tight seal. Use a #3 Phillips screwdriver for the clamp screws and ensure washers are used to prevent damage to the plastic flange. Align the clamp openings with the ridges on the valve.
- Kubatanidza Pombi: Attach the pump to the six-way valve using the provided hoses and fittings. Ensure all connections are tight to prevent leaks. The system uses 1.5-inch inlet and outlet connections.
- Connecting to Pool: Connect the pool's skimmer line to the pump's inlet and the pool's return line to the six-way valve's 'RETURN' port using the provided hoses.
- Installing Pressure Gauge: Screw the pressure gauge into the designated port on the six-way valve.
- Filling the Pump with Water: Before starting, remove the strainer basket lid and fill the pump with water to prime it. Replace the lid securely.
- Kubatanidza Magetsi: Plug the 7.9-meter power cord into a GFCI-protected outlet.

Always turn off the pump before changing the valve position to prevent damage.
- SEFA: Normal filtering mode. Water flows through the sand, trapping debris, and returns to the pool.
- BACKWASH: Cleans the filter sand by reversing water flow, sending dirty water to waste. Use when pressure gauge reads 8-10 PSI above starting pressure.
- RINSE: Used after backwashing to flush out any remaining dirty water from the valve and sand bed to waste before returning to FILTER mode.
- Marara/Dhaivha: Bypasses the filter, sending water directly to waste. Useful for lowering pool water level or vacuuming heavy debris directly to waste.
- DZVANYA: Bypasses the filter, circulating water directly back to the pool. Useful for mixing chemicals without filtering.
- KAKAVHIRWA: Shuts off all flow to the filter and pump. Use for servicing the pump or filter.
Dhijitari Timer Kushanda

The digital timer allows for automated control of filtration cycles. Refer to the timer's specific instructions for setting daily run times. Ensure the timer is set to provide adequate filtration for your pool size and usage, typically 8-12 hours per day.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your filtration system.
- Kushambidza musana: Perform backwashing when the pressure gauge reads 8-10 PSI above its clean starting pressure, or when water flow to the pool decreases significantly.
- Rinsing: Always rinse for 30-60 seconds after backwashing to settle the sand and prevent dirty water from returning to the pool.
- Strainer Basket Cleaning: Regularly inspect and clean the pump's strainer basket. Turn off the pump, close necessary valves, remove the lid, empty debris, and replace.
- Kutsiva Jecha: Filter sand typically needs to be replaced every 3-5 years, depending on usage and water chemistry.
- Winterization: In cold climates, drain all water from the pump and filter tank to prevent freezing damage. Store the pump and valve indoors if possible.
