2. Mirayiridzo Yekuchengetedza
- Always connect the laminator to a grounded power outlet.
- Do not operate the laminator with wet hands or near water.
- Keep children and pets away from the laminator during operation.
- The laminator generates heat. Avoid touching the lamination slot or rollers during and immediately after use to prevent burns.

The Zebra PL-220 is a durable, all-metal thermal laminator featuring a 23 cm (9 inch) entry width, suitable for letter and legal size documents. It utilizes a 4-roller system for smooth, bubble-free lamination.

Control Panel Features

- POWER Indicator (Red): Illuminates when the machine is powered on.
- READY Indicator (Green): Illuminates when the machine has reached the selected operating temperature.
- TEMP °C Dial: Used to select the desired lamination temperature (80°C to 180°C).
- HOT/COLD Switch: Selects between thermal (hot) and pressure-sensitive (cold) lamination modes.
- FORWARD/REVERSE Switch: Controls the direction of the rollers. Use REVERSE to clear jams.
- ON / Off chinja: Powers the laminator on or off.
4. Setup
- Bvisa zvinhu: Carefully remove the laminator from its packaging.
- Kuiswa: Place the laminator on a stable, flat surface with adequate space around it for proper ventilation and document feeding/exiting.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Thermal Lamination (Hot)
- Power On: Flip the ON/OFF switch to 'ON'. The red POWER indicator will light up.
- Sarudza Modhi: Set the HOT/COLD switch to 'HOT'.
- Seta Tembiricha: Rotate the TEMP °C dial to the appropriate temperature for your laminating pouch thickness. Refer to the table below for recommended settings.
- Preheat: Allow 2 to 3 minutes for the machine to preheat. The green READY indicator will light up when the selected temperature is reached.
- Gadzirira Gwaro: Place your document inside a laminating pouch, ensuring it is centered and there is an even border around the document.
- Laminate: Insert the sealed edge of the laminating pouch squarely into the entry slot. The machine will automatically feed the pouch through. Do not pull or push the pouch.
- Cool Down: Once the pouch exits the machine, place it on a flat surface to cool and harden.
- Power Off: After use, turn the ON/OFF switch to 'OFF' and unplug the machine.
5.2 Recommended Temperature Settings
The optimal temperature depends on the thickness of your laminating pouch. Using a carrier is recommended for thinner pouches or delicate documents to prevent adhesive bleed and ensure smooth feeding.

5.3 Cold Lamination
For heat-sensitive documents or self-adhesive pouches, use the cold lamination setting.
- Power On: Flip the ON/OFF switch to 'ON'.
- Sarudza Modhi: Set the HOT/COLD switch to 'COLD'.
- Gadzirira Gwaro: Place your document inside a cold laminating pouch.
- Laminate: Insert the sealed edge of the pouch squarely into the entry slot. The machine will feed it through using pressure.
- Power Off: After use, turn the ON/OFF switch to 'OFF' and unplug the machine.
5.4 Reverse Function
If a laminating pouch is misfed or begins to jam, immediately flip the FORWARD/REVERSE switch to 'REVERSE' to eject the pouch. Once the pouch is clear, return the switch to 'FORWARD' or 'OFF'.
