2. Safety Information

5. Setup

5.1 Initial Gearbox Oil Fill

Before operating the mower for the first time, it is critical to fill the gearbox with the specified oil. Failure to do so will result in severe damage to the gearbox and void the warranty.

  1. Locate the oil filler hole on the gearbox (refer to Figure 2.1).

  3. Carefully add 1.20 liters (1.27 quarts) of 85W-90 gearbox oil.

5.2 Kubatanidza kuTractor

The FM180 mower is designed for easy attachment to Category 1 tractors with a 3-point hitch system.

  1. Position the tractor in front of the mower, aligning the 3-point hitch arms with the mower's attachment points.
  2. Connect the lower lift arms of the tractor to the mower's lower pins, securing them with appropriate pins.
  3. Connect the top link of the tractor to the mower's upper attachment point, securing it with a pin.
  4. Connect the PTO driveshaft from the tractor to the mower's gearbox input shaft. Ensure the quick coupler PTO with shear pin is properly engaged and secured.
  5. Verify all connections are secure and that the PTO shaft has sufficient clearance throughout the tractor's lift range.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Pre-Operation Checks

  3. Begin mowing at a slow, steady pace. Avoid sudden turns or excessive speed, especially on uneven terrain.
  4. Overlap each pass slightly to ensure complete coverage.
  5. When finished, raise the mower, disengage the PTO, shut off the tractor engine, and remove the key.
