3.1. Compass Setup

The compass is ready for use out of the box. No specific assembly or calibration is required for basic operation. Ensure the compass is held level for accurate readings.

Obtain suitable hog rings: Ensure the hog rings have an 8mm closure diameter and are compatible with nails 2cm wide and 1cm high.
Load the hog rings: Open the plier and insert a coil of up to 50 hog rings into the automatic feeding mechanism. Ensure they are correctly aligned for smooth feeding.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1. Using the Hiking Compass

Basic Navigation: Hold the compass level and allow the needle to settle. The red end of the needle points North. Rotate the compass housing to align the orienting arrow with the North end of the needle.
