This manual provides detailed instructions for the setup, operation, and maintenance of your Vortex Crossfire HD 1-4x24 Second Focal Plane Riflescope. Designed for reliability and performance, this riflescope offers clear optics and robust construction for various hunting and shooting applications.

Product Overview

The Vortex Crossfire HD 1-4x24 riflescope is engineered with an HD Optical System, utilizing select glass elements for sharp resolution, reduced chromatic aberration, and excellent color fidelity. Its fully multi-coated lenses enhance light transmission and improve clarity, especially in low-light conditions. The illuminated Dead-Hold 2A BDC (MOA) reticle provides precise aiming with an illuminated floating center dot. The riflescope features a fast focus eyepiece for rapid reticle acquisition and is built from aircraft-grade aluminum, ensuring waterproof, fogproof, and shockproof performance.

1. Mounting the Riflescope

Proper mounting is crucial for optimal performance. Ensure the riflescope is securely mounted to your rifle using appropriate 30mm rings and bases. Consult a qualified gunsmith if you are unsure about the mounting process.

2. Installing the CR2032 Battery

For models with an illuminated reticle, install the included CR2032 battery into the illumination control knob located on the side of the riflescope. Rotate the cap counter-clockwise to open the battery compartment, insert the battery with the positive (+) side facing outwards, and then replace the cap by rotating clockwise until snug.

3. Focusing the Reticle (Fast Focus Eyepiece)

To ensure a sharp reticle image, adjust the fast focus eyepiece. Hold the riflescope up to a plain, light-colored wall or the sky. Look through the eyepiece and quickly rotate the eyepiece focus ring (located at the rear of the scope) until the reticle appears sharp and clear. Avoid staring at the reticle for too long, as your eye may compensate for any blurriness.

4. Zeroing the Riflescope

Zeroing involves adjusting the elevation and windage turrets to align the point of impact with your point of aim at a specific distance. The Crossfire HD 1-4x24 features capped elevation and windage turrets with 1/4 MOA clicks. Use the turret tool to make precise adjustments. Turn the elevation turret (top) for vertical adjustments and the windage turret (side) for horizontal adjustments. Follow standard zeroing procedures at your desired range.

Operating the Riflescope

1. Magnification Adjustment

The magnification adjustment ring is located in front of the eyepiece. Rotate this ring to change the magnification from 1x to 4x. The 1-4x24 model is ideal for close to mid-range engagements, offering a wide field of view at lower magnifications and increased detail at higher settings.

2. Illuminated Reticle Control

The illumination control knob is located on the left side of the riflescope. Rotate this knob to turn the reticle illumination on or off and to adjust its brightness. Multiple intensity settings allow for optimal visibility in various lighting conditions, from bright daylight to low light.

3. Using the Dead-Hold 2A BDC (MOA) Reticle

The Dead-Hold 2A BDC reticle provides hash marks for bullet drop compensation (BDC) and windage corrections. Refer to the included Reticle Manual for specific holdover points and windage values for your chosen ammunition. The illuminated center dot aids in rapid target acquisition, especially in challenging light.

Maintenance

1. Kuchenesa Lens

Use the provided lens cloth or a soft, lint-free cloth to gently wipe away dust and loose debris from the lenses. For stubborn smudges or fingerprints, use a lens cleaning solution specifically designed for optics. Apply a small amount of solution to the cloth, not directly to the lens, and gently wipe in a circular motion. Avoid excessive rubbing.

2. General Care

Store the riflescope in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight. Use the flip caps to protect the lenses when not in use. Regularly check all mounting screws to ensure they are secure. The riflescope is waterproof and fogproof, but prolonged exposure to extreme conditions should be avoided when possible.
