The Kawai ES110 is an 88-key digital piano designed to provide an authentic playing experience with its Responsive Hammer Compact Action. It features a built-in stereo speaker system, Bluetooth MIDI connectivity, 192-note polyphony, and versatile dual split modes, making it suitable for various musical applications.

2. Setup

Place the digital piano on a stable, flat surface or a dedicated keyboard stand to prevent wobbling or accidental falls.

3. Basic Operation

3.1 Simba On/Kudzima

Press the SIMBA button located on the left side of the control panel to turn the instrument ON. The power indicator light will illuminate. Press it again to turn the instrument OFF.

3.2 Kudzora Inzwi

Shandisa iyo TENZI VOLUME slider on the control panel to adjust the overall output volume. Slide it towards MIN for lower volume and towards MAX for higher volume.

The ES110 offers 19 different instrument sounds. To select a sound:

  • Press the BASA bhatani.
  • Ndichiri kubata BASA, press one of the keys labeled with the desired instrument sound (e.g., GRAND PIANO, E. PIANO, ORGAN, STRINGS, HARPSICHORD, VIBRAPHONE).
  • Release both buttons. The selected sound will now be active.

3.4 Metronome

To activate the metronome, press the MetroNOME button. Press it again to stop. While the metronome is active, you can adjust the tempo by holding the BASA button and pressing the keys labeled with tempo adjustments.

3.5 Transpose

The transpose function allows you to shift the pitch of the entire keyboard up or down in semitone steps. To use, hold the BASA button and press the keys labeled for transpose adjustments.

4. Advanced Features

4.1 Dual Mode (Layering Sounds)

Dual Mode allows you to layer two different sounds simultaneously. For example, you can play a piano sound with strings layered on top. To activate:

  • Select your primary sound.
  • Hold the BASA button and press the key labeled for Dual Mode activation.
  • Ndichiri kubata BASA, select your secondary sound by pressing its corresponding key.

4.2 Split Mode

Split Mode divides the keyboard into two sections, allowing you to play different sounds with your left and right hands. To activate:

  • Select your primary sound for the right-hand section.
  • Hold the BASA button and press the key labeled for Split Mode activation.

4.3 Recorder Function

4.4 Bluetooth MIDI Connectivity

The ES110 supports Bluetooth MIDI, allowing wireless connection to smart devices and compatible music apps. Refer to your device's Bluetooth settings and the app's instructions for pairing.

5. Kubatana

5.1 Headphone Jacks

Two headphone jacks are located on the front left side of the piano, allowing for private practice or duet listening. Plugging in headphones will mute the internal speakers.

5.2 Line Out

The ES110 features LINE OUT (L/MONO, R) jacks on the rear panel for connecting to external amplification systems, mixers, or recording devices.

5.3 USB MIDI Port

A USB MIDI port is available for connecting the piano to a computer for MIDI data transfer, enabling use with music software and virtual instruments.
